An annual ritual at St. Mary’s, a dramatic presentation of the Passion of Christ was presented in the parish hall.
It began with the Last Supper and ended with the crucifixion of Christ, who was
portrayed by Mauricio Ventura, a parisioner of our parish. The cross was carried through the streets from the hall to Lincoln Blvd.,
down to E. Olive Street processing west to Riverside Blvd. and back to the hall.
The 14 Stations of the Cross were recited along the way and continued at the parish hall where the crucifixion and death of Christ was reenacted.
This solemn tradition has been in place for approximately 20 years and the time and effort
put into it by the parishioners who put on the performance is evident in their portrayal of the Passion of our Lord.
